She really does.

But I love it.

You know, I love doing the book club episodes.

It is.

And I've got a lot more brain space for it now.

I mean, I've always been a reader, predominantly a fiction reader.

That's been true since I was a teeny weeny little kid.

Our mother, my sister and I, our mother read to both of us when we were, you know, small babies.

She was constantly talking to us.

And it wasn't the fashion back then.

She used to say that other women would say to her, why are you talking to your baby?

I mean, you're just going to addle its brain, you know, don't do that.

But she believed in talking to us.

She believed in getting us reading at an early age.

We were both reading before we went to school.

We had the weekly trips to the library.

Neither of my parents got to finish secondary school, but they were both big readers.

And then when I emerged from school, I knew I wanted to do some further study around English literature.

But, you know, my family background, my sister and I, we were going to be the first generation that got to go on to university.

And the focus was very much on study something that's going to get you a job.
