So the Nation of Yiwa was a black Hebrew Israelite religious movement that most people today agree was a cult. voice-verified

It was founded in nineteen seventy nine by a man named Hulon Mitchell junior who got his followers to call him Yiwa Bin Yiwa, which translates to God son of God. voice-verified

Its ultimate goal, like its official stated goal, was to empower African Americans and lead them in peace to their rightful home in Israel. voice-verified

Yiwa Bin Yiwa was arrested in nineteen ninety, connected to a long string of murders, and he was arrested actually, thanks to the information provided by today's guest. voice-verified

So in this episode I'm gonna speak with a man named Khalil Amani, and he was one of the earliest members of this cult. voice-verified

And he stayed all through the eighties until it became so violent that he felt compelled to leave voice-verified
