Welcome back to Industry Insights exclusive interview.
I'm Julie Miekan.
This is the show where we go beyond the headlines, where we sit down with the people who have actually done the work, built the practices and been in the rooms where the decisions got made.
And where we ask them to tell us what it was really like, not the version for the press release, the real one.
Before we get into it, please note that the views expressed in these conversations are those of the speakers and do not necessarily represent the views of Octus or its affiliates.

Today, we are deep in the world of CLOs, a corner of the market that has changed almost beyond recognition, and that a lot of people still do not fully understand.
Vince Pompliano has spent more than a decade at Benefit Street Partners, helping build one of the most established CLO platforms in the market.
where he now serves as managing director and co-head of the US CLO business.
He traded structured products at RBS before joining BSP in 2014, and he got his start after studying economics at Bucknell.
Sid Punjabi caught him at a real milestone.
BSP just priced its 50th new issue CLO, and the market around that milestone looks nothing like it used to.
Past a trillion dollars in size, more than 160 managers now issuing in the US alone, and the economics of CLO's equity shifting under everybody's feet.
What stood out to me is how plainly Vince talks about a market that usually hides behind jargon.
In a field this crowded, his view is that the name on the deal is going to matter more, not less, because the gap between the best managers and everyone else is only going to widen.
He's thoughtful about playing offense and defense at the same time, leaning on the diversification built into a CLO to stay steady through dislocation instead of getting whipsawed by it.
