I mean, the most we know is that some of these cases have been related to people who ate at Taco Bell.
I'll just tell you a little bit about why this is a hard food outbreak to track.
Most foodborne outbreaks are bacteria like E. coli.
We know what that is.
This is a parasite.
It's related to the malaria parasite.
With a parasite, they can't grow a parasite in the lab.
So it's a lot more complicated.
And what they have to do is actually like they break it, they grind it down.
They get like a certain part of the genome that they try to match to other people who are sick.
And this particular parasite doesn't cause symptoms.
You know, it can be two weeks after you ate somewhere that you've got this really bad diarrhea.
They're still eating fresh produce.
And they recommend others do the same.
