And I'd always on radio steered clear of as much political stuff as I could.
So, I mean, I knew that there were various campaigns, but I didn't know how to make them work.
And what I did find out fairly quickly is that it wasn't as simple as marching down the street screaming, we want money for Mr Fluffy, Victor.
So we had to be really cunning and strategic if we wanted to succeed.
First step was to ring a friend of mine called Andrew Purchase, who had successfully lobbied all the footy codes in Australia to adopt anti-gay, lesbian, bisexual vilification code.
He'd run a campaign.
He'd been successful.
Get some advice from him.
I realised...
I didn't really know anyone who's an expert in the field, but I knew a few people who knew more than me.
And that's all I needed.
And Andrew suggested I talk to someone else.
And I just tried to gather as much information.
Bruce had already done an enormous, Bruce Wallner had done an enormous amount of work getting his head around all the ins and outs of Mr. Fluffy and how victims were treated all over Australia.
