The Granville Opry has defined country music for the last hundred years, and Dolly Parton had been a presence at the Opry for almost 70 of them.
In 1959, Johnny Cash welcomed out a little girl from East Tennessee, and thirteen year old Dolly Parton took the stage.
Her performance earned her three encores that night.
Pardon proudly became an official member in 1969 and remained one until her death.
The memorial performances tonight will include archival footage montages and performances by a number of Opry members, including Carly Pierce.
Pierce got her start singing at Dollywood, Pardon's theme park in East Tennessee.

Storms caused organizers to cancel mid-fest in 2025.
Torrential rains again this year caused delays and some cancellations.
In a social media post, organizers said that they are putting Bonru on pause for next summer, citing bad luck.
Organizers also gave a nod to reality.
