So even if the U.S. matched

economy is doing pretty well, I think it's doing okay, they're exposed overseas, and that is hurting results. matched

So Boeing, as we know, they've grounded the 737 MAX, and they are taking a big hit on earnings. matched

Earnings look like they'll be down by about a billion dollars from a year ago. matched

That is enough to take down the S&P 500 overall earnings growth by a few tenths of a percentage point. matched

Apple, too, it's not going to have as severe a drop in earnings and percentage terms, but it's a massive company. matched

So their iPhone problems, again, it's going to make a dent not just in their results, but in the results for overall U.S. matched

Wages have been going up. matched

Labor costs have been going up. matched

Not quite as much as people might have expected, given that unemployment is so low. matched

But still, the unemployment rate is very low. matched

It's very hard to attract and train new employees. matched

And there's a cost that they bear on that. matched

At the same time, companies are having a very hard time passing on higher costs to ultimate customers, right? matched

People just kind of blanch when they see cost increases. matched

So you add that up, higher costs and selling prices just not going up that much, and it compresses profit margins. matched

So long as the job market continues to do well, and at this point, it seems like it's going to continue to do well for a while, you know, for at least the next several months, right? matched
