The way we want to play, just need to maximise a bit of that territory a bit more in first halves.
been we've been able to do that a bit more in second halves maybe it's a bit of fatigue maybe teams aren't getting as many numbers back or can't pressure us as well as they have in first halves and that's allowed us to capitalize on that field position a little bit more but i'd be more disappointed if we're playing the game in our back half and um you know some of those things weren't on our terms but i feel like the game's looking the way we want it's just the scoreboard's not reflecting that at times
I think it's handing responsibility over to them and asking their opinion on things during the week and giving them responsibility in leading the week in terms of the way we prepare and the way they prepare their teammates.
I think if they're well prepared and understand the challenges of the game, then they can think clearly within the game.
They've done that really well.
It's taken time.
We haven't always been as composed as we are over the last 18 months in the past and
There's been times in the past where we've got field position and the scoreboard's not reflecting the dominance in the game and we have lost a bit of composure and rushed ourselves.
I think our leaders are messaging really well in quarters, which is allowing our players to remain calm and in the moment and keep executing the plan and the scoreboard look after itself.
I think it's one of the things we've done is just make sure we learn from every experience we've gone through.
We have had some tough situations.
I think back to
2024 when we're sitting in third spot on the ladder and then miss the finals while losing the last four games that was a tough period but we made sure we learnt from those periods and most of it's been around the mindset we need to show in those moments and sometimes we've gone out there to play not to lose rather than play to win and I think some of those experiences will hold us in really good stead when the pressure comes on later in the year
Yeah, it's a good insight.
We probably wouldn't have been able to do that a couple of years ago.
We would have lost our heads a little bit and wouldn't have been able to have the calmness that we have at the moment to be able to,
change the look of the game or implement little things that will help us score, yeah, and get the game on our terms.
So, you know, the leaders are doing a great job with the way they're leading the group, taking in information.
And, you know, sometimes they're doing that without a break now.
