Grit to me is about tenacity.
It's about being able to handle adversity like things get dirty and you just kind of dig your way out of it.
It doesn't need to be pretty.
It just needs to get done.

But my second year in the league, I tore my labrum in training camp.
And I played the entire season with a busted up shoulder.
I didn't practice the week.
I had a red jersey on.
I was non-contact.
And the only time that I actually hit somebody was when we were playing the games on Sunday.

My guy who was behind me knew that any time I made a tackle that I had to dive to my right and, like, overextend.
Like, he already started running on the field before, you know, I even got up because I'd have to come to the sideline.
My shoulder would go numb for a little bit.
It'd probably take, like, 30 seconds a minute to come back.
I'd wait until I could do push-ups.
Like, when I knew I could do push-ups again, then I knew I could go back on the field.
