She wins the seat with a swing of around nineteen percent, which is one of the biggest swings in the country. matched

And it's kind of crazy to think that voters knew she'd been disendorsed by the Liberal Party due to her comments. matched

They were aware of her comments. matched

They really blew up in the media. matched

And they voted for her anyway. matched

If anything, the fact she was disendorsed, the fact that she said these things in a major newspaper was a selling point for her. matched

I mean, there's also a chance that like they could have they could have missed the news and and maybe uh thought that she was still running for the liberal party. matched

Yeah, I don't wanna I don't wanna exclude the fact that there were some people who probably looked at that ballot and were like, Oh, I'm voting for the Liberal Party. matched

But I think it's fair to say it was both. matched

But because the Liberals have disowned her, Hansen enters the new parliament as an independent. matched

She doesn't have a party. matched

That also means that she has no one to tell her what she can and can't say. matched
