Imagine doing that.
And I guess this little seed got planted and then a couple of years, maybe it was maybe a year after that, I got dared to do that night at Kitty O'Brien's and I signed up and ran away three times and then I did it.
But that night watching Bill Bailey and all those guys, all guys obviously, but it was just the magic of that moment of that shared communal connection
kind of everyone together in that moment and then everyone together it was like a it was like music you know it was just there was something beautiful about it you know and I mean Bill Bailey is in a league of his own because of his musicianship but I just went god imagine being able to be up there and be that one instead of being one of all of these you know
Yeah, I think it was a bit retrospective, to be fair.
I thought about that later, yeah.
I remember feeling the beauty of that moment.
And then actually, I haven't really thought about that before, but then when I did that gig at Kitty's, my first ever gig, there was about 20 maybe people there, it was that same feeling of...
I don't know, I guess separating yourself from the pack and going, I think I can do that, you know.
Sometimes to this day, this is my 31st year of doing comedy, the arrogance of it still sometimes strikes me.
Before I'm going on, you look out and you see a couple of hundred people or more or less or whatever, and you go, I'm going to go up there with an amplifying stick and fucking talk about myself.
Like sometimes I think that's insane sometimes.
Yeah.
But also that's half the puzzle, you know.
Then you do a gig and, you know, if you happen to – so often you're in a green room, you never see any of the audience.
But, you know, sometimes if you walk out and someone goes, oh, my God, that's me and my husband or that's me and my daughter or, oh, my God, my sister.
Oh, my God, you know.
And –
You know, what you're doing, especially in these fucking crazy times, is, you know, it's one of the few things, like, you aren't allowed to have your phone.
You actually aren't allowed.
