It was like Cindy had vanished into thin air.

And Cindy's heartbroken mother eventually flew in from South Korea with her brother.

And through an interpreter, she told the press, quote, For any parent, that's the worst nightmare.

Searchers rushed over to the site and they found a lot of discarded items, but there was nothing there that could be tied to Cindy.

And now everyone was just starting to get really frustrated.

And as November ended, the investigation was pretty much still at square one.

I mean, nothing has been found at this point.

But then, the police got a call about a strange incident 200 miles away.
