A shotgun to the head doesn't leave a clean scene.
It's one of the most violent ways a person can die.
Looking at his left hand, the one wrapped around the barrel, you can barely see any blood on it.
And blood covered the gun from end to end, but his hand that held it
was clean.
And Wilkins put it like this, saying, quote, if you ever look at photos of shotgun suicides, they are brutal.
There is no universe where that hand is not covered in blood, unquote.
And then there was the heroin kit.
Everything in it was neat, organized, even, careful.
The syringes were capped and packed into a Tom Moore cigar box sitting right at his feet and receipts for the gun and the shells were still in his pockets and the shells themselves were arranged in a row beside him.
