But biographer Charles R. Cross wasn't so sure, and Cross found that the whole thing may have started with a routine school screening that incorrectly raised a flag, one that didn't hold up when an actual doctor took a closer look.
So the darkness in Kurt's life wasn't random either.
His cousin, Beverly, who worked as a nurse, eventually spoke publicly about what ran through the family tree.
