And we're seeing, I mean, Don, you and I talked about this the last time I was here, we're seeing the fear of the media now, of Trump.
We're seeing the fear of criticizing our leaders.
This is what Jamal talked about, warned about, that he even as editor used to sit in meetings where they'd have red lines about what you could say and what you couldn't.
And we're seeing this here and now in that spectrum of
that Jamal went from, I think a lot of people don't know, and I'll say this on your show, Jamal was censored from writing in 2016, not because he criticized Mohammed bin Salman,
but because he lightly criticized Donald Trump, they banned him from writing because he invoked Donald Trump and told the Saudis, told them to be careful of him.
And for that, he wasn't killed, but he was silenced.
And then two years later, he was actually killed, right?
So it just goes to show this global web of authoritarianism that Jamal, working with Jamal, we never thought anything like this could happen.
to him in such a brutal way.
We were just going about our jobs.
But I think it's a reminder of how increasingly dangerous this world is for journalists.
under this web between Trump, their alliances with the brologuards, the tech billionaires, the people who were at that dinner yesterday, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, that this cabal of thugs rule us right now.
And we are so much less safe as human beings, as people who want to speak our minds and not be killed for it.
