One of the most important parts of each country's economy.
The other interesting thing this film pointed out was how important the ability for consumers to get credit is because they were saying banks were stopping lending to retail customers.
Like you and I, if we wanted to get a credit card or buy a house or start a business, and if the banks stopped lending to as many people, then
innovation stops happening, people stop buying things, starting businesses, growing businesses, all of this stuff.
So the government was really worried about the banks reducing the money they were lending.
And I had never really thought about that.
How important being able to borrow money is to our financial system as well.
We did a scams and frauds episode at some point in 2022.

And sometimes you just can't fake it till you make it.
