I do think it's a good idea.

I mean, like there was a stat I read when I was researching this today that like 87% of Irish farms rely primarily on family labour.

And I mean, that makes a lot of sense.

But like you say, it's really hard to get young people...

into farming.

So what happens then if you have a farmer who may be reaching retirement age, but the children or other family members are off working in other jobs, working in other sectors?

What are they to do?

I think it makes sense to have this be like a labour credits system like they're proposing as well.

And they're also proposing that it would be in place for things like bereavement or illness.

So it's kind of overdue, to be honest.

But then I do think when you have something like this, you might end up with questions about, okay, well, if we do this for farmers, should we do this for everyone who's freelance?

Should we do it for everyone who works for themselves?

Should there be a bursary that you can apply for?

For example, like my dad's a wholesaler, he works for himself.

Should he be able to apply if he has some sort of, God forbid, long-term illness, that he can get some kind of relief?

Because if he doesn't work, he doesn't get paid.

And there's many people like that.

But I think it's a great idea.

I mean, I think it's a good start, definitely.

I mean, they're really getting ahead of themselves here, aren't they?
