So if you write novels or you're writing a memoir or some sort of narrative nonfiction, oftentimes you are in your own silo.
You're you're doing the work, you might be getting feedback, but you really have to be sort of like in your own head writing your story.
Cookbooks, it's more like being a showrunner.
You're gonna write a script, but you're gonna have to have a team.
Um you're going to not only have your editor, you're gonna have a copy editor, you're gonna have a proofreader.
You're also going to have a photographer, a food stylist.
Um, you're gonna have some recipe testers or a tester somehow involved.
So you really are managing a team, and like a a showrunner doing a show, like that's kind of like your writer's room.
Like you gotta like bounce ideas.
A thing that recipe testers are so great at is say, say you had a a recipe for, I don't know, a graham cracker crust, and you only used certain grams of graham cracker, and then the tester comes back.
Can you do the recipe so I use the whole like sleeve of graham crackers that come in from the store?
You know, things like that.
That would be like a showrunner working in a writer's room saying that's a plot hole, you know, let's figure this out.
Can we find it a different way?
So you really have to be more nimble, take feedback, but also don't just take, don't say yes to everything, but don't say no to everything.
So it really is more of a team dynamic.
Being a writer, a lot of times I, if I'm working, say, with a a
Food personality, I can help them get introduced to photographers and see which one is the right fit.
But oftentimes I don't like to just say my preferences.
It's not up to me.
