It is a bit of a frontier land.
But, you know, we had to be careful because his cousins grew up without this story rattling in the dark of night and so they don't have a view on their grandmothers.
But I was able to interview the last remaining sibling of Colin.
So of those seven children, there's only one alive and she's now 98 and in a nursing home.
But she was, she remembers being there at the time.
She had her own personal dramas that she was dealing with, but she remembers Colin going on and on about the lodger and the affair.
Forgiveness and acceptance, I've just realised.
They're such healing things.
I mean, acrimony, suspicion, anger, they're such nasty, violent emotions.
And if you can get to a place of forgiveness and acceptance... That's really hard, though, isn't it?
Well... Isn't it super hard?
I mean, I think time... I've known people who just can't get there.
Can't get there at all.
