I did at first and then he pleaded to come back and he was very persuasive and very convincing.

So you didn't think you'd lost him or did you think you'd lost him?

I didn't know.

I wanted to try.

I wanted to really try and see if we could find a way forward and put it behind us.

And because, as I say, we just didn't want too much acrimony and explosions at home, we really did try and work things out.

Of course, it's going to really knock you back in your socks, this kind of revelation.

And did you have that sense that you were kind of, I don't know, losing it for a while or losing it around other people?

Well, I was still at work.

I was working in a newspaper office, you know, covering other people's conflicts and conundrums.
