Is that because they think Hurdy will do it?
If that's how it's always going to be and if they're not going to come out and be like, look, we're doing it this way, this is the process, I think this story is just always going to be hanging around the Essendon Football Club.
But if he gets the role, having gone through the process, but now is the process a little bit compromised with all these other coaches that are potentials that are saying that they won't put their hat in the ring?
If he's the person that's in charge of this process and he wasn't on his radar...
What's changed for that to be the case now because he's put his hand up?
Is that why?
Or he didn't consider him being interested in the role?
They were very stoic as a club when they wanted to be a club and make their own club decisions with Zach Merritt and hold someone to that.
Are they stoic now and they say we didn't have him in part of the process?
Exactly.
I'm not saying it's the right thing.
I'm just saying, like, why is it now?
He didn't come out and say, I will.
Everything he said was completely fair.

And just sitting back listening to how we're all talking about this and everything that's going on, straight away, does it not just flag that this whole process now won't run the way that it would have?
Like, the whole process has changed.
in sort of 72 hours for the club post Brad Scott and it's like, okay, is that for a good thing or is that a bad thing?
And I don't think it's ever probably going to get the best outcome when I guess a process like this is somewhat compromised.
He's not even home yet, but he wants to bring him home.
