So the jeweller's got this ridiculous necklace on his hand, and he sends a paste version round the other courts of Europe and all the other women say, Oh, I'm not buying this, it's horrible.
And then we have a man called Cardinal de Rohan, who had been the ambassador from Paris in the Austrian court, and Marie Antoinette thought he'd said mean things about her, so she doesn't like him, and he feels excluded.
And then he gets a message suggesting that he meets
uh a mysterious lady in the gardens of Versailles at night, and he turns up there in the gardens of Versailles.
And there is beautiful, gorgeous Marie Antoinette, and she says to him, You may imagine that the past is forgotten, and essentially asks him to buy the diamond necklace for her in secret, so no one knows, and then she'll pay him back.
And so transported

He thinks he's going to have an affair with Marie Antoinette.
He thinks that, you know, meeting her in the twilight zones of the Versailles Gardens means very exciting stuff.
He speaks to the jeweler and the jeweler, poor old jeweler, is over the moon that he's going to sell this white elephant necklace that everybody thinks is disgusting.
Well, maybe a bit far more disgusting, but not not the most beautiful necklace that anyone's ever seen.
And and so the necklace is handed over
And De Bohan
Thinks it's all marvellous.
Then there's a problem.
Marie Antoinette still keeps ignoring him.
She just cold shoulders him at first eye.
