which is very normal in deals like this, but Paramount, so that would be like Netflix, one of Netflix's streaming rivals.

It was the worst performing stock on the S&P 500.

So I think the investment community, the financial community definitely sees a chance of this happening and does not think it would be good news for Netflix's rivals.

Yeah, the labour market in particular, you're right.

So, yeah, he's finally getting what he wants.

There's a 98% chance of a rate cut from the US this week, so we fully expect them to do it.

He's been pressuring them, essentially, to cut interest rates for a very long time.

And he may not like what comes next because even though the market is expecting

some interest rate cuts it's been really interesting how some members of the federal reserve have really sounded very hawkish so like they're not that keen on cutting interest rates because whilst the labor market is soft and we are expecting a softening and growth particularly due to uh you know the one-off factor really which was the federal government shutdown uh partly caused by donald trump while republicans and democrats not being able to agree on a budget in the u.s um but

Also, they also have got to look after inflation as well, the Federal Reserve.

So inflation there is much higher than the Fed's target rate.

So it's really sticky around 3%.

So we think that, yes, they will cut interest rates this week, but they will really push back on the narrative that there will be more rate cuts to come.

Now, ultimately, Jerome Powell, he's the chair of the Fed.

This is his kind of, you know, one of three final meetings that he has before his term expires.

And then the Federal Reserve

Donald Trump is likely to put in Kevin Hassett, which is considered a bit of a Trump puppet.

So it's a really interesting time for the Federal Reserve.

A lot of political interference, which historically we're not used to because it's meant to be an independent central bank.
