Kathleen Farrell

Kathleen Farrell, who passed away last year, was a legend who sold flowers on Thomas Street.

Kathleen told me this story a couple of years ago when Cook's name came up.

She heard loud cries and screams coming from a laneway at the side of Cook's shop.

She went over to see if someone was being attacked and she discovered the sounds were coming from the basement underneath the shop.

Kathleen shouted out that she was calling the police and everything went quiet.

A short while later, a young teenager came out and ran up Thomas Street.

Kathleen went to the police, told them about the attack on the young teenager, but heard nothing back.
