But it was nice to meet yours.
But then if we formed a friendship, next time I met you, because I've made you part of my tribe, my brain will go, oh, she's a safe person.
Activate dopamine.
Stay close to her.
And that's what we do.
We form these friendships as adults.
But for adolescents, that dopamine will activate to
any adolescent, even if they've not met them before, because they've got to form connections with new people and form this new tribe.
So they get dopamine activation in the presence of other kids, other adolescents.
They also, we want them to learn how to be good at cause and effect and making good decisions quick.
So actually that's why risk taking increases.
You get a buzz from taking risks, from putting yourself into those moments.
So all of a sudden taking a risk, doing silly things,
is way more buzzy than it was before.
But can you see that there's a reason for that?
It's because they have to learn how to make quick judgements so that they can protect their offspring when they form this new tribe.
But what it means is more risk-taking, their peers are so much more important,
They push us away a bit because they don't want us.
They don't want our advice.
They don't want our, because that would be silly of the brain.
