Because I think a lot of people think of clothing when they think of it one step further than it being superficial.
They think, oh, it's about making a great impression or I'll look powerful, but maybe you're not feeling that.
And it's really about when you look in the mirror, are you seeing an authentic, positive representation of who you want?
Because when that aligns, that's when someone has incredible personal style.
That's when someone feels aligned.
And so that's how I've always seen fashion as a form of empowerment and creative self-expression and taking it away from people feeling judged or fearful of it.
Well, it's such a great question because you really, even though I'm so hyper aware of it and I do read people and it's a different kind of depth of insight that I have when I look at it through that lens, I still am at the mercy of clothing expressing parts of me, the highs and the lows.
So I can look like all of us.
I can look through my wardrobe and see these very clearly defined chapters of
And I often think, you know, the name of your podcast is like nothing to wear.
And people often will say, oh, I have a wardrobe full of clothes and nothing to wear.
Always.
What you're really saying is that I don't know who to be.
I don't know who to be today in this moment.
Yeah.
And maybe the things that I'm seeing reflected back at me are an old version of myself that doesn't feel accurate.
aligned in more I've had that before even when I came back I went from Sydney where I was wearing colorful pretty dresses I was 21 when I moved to New York yes I arrived in New York winter wow you know I feel like the tan leached out of my skin on entry yes and within a couple you know a year I was wearing all black and then I moved to LA and was and worked so very different so
so different and it worked in entertainment i was at e-news and it was the you know the time where everyone was wearing i don't know if you remember like it was the galaxy dress which was and then there was like a cheaper version of it which was the black halo jackie o dress which was this kind of very body conscious and you had it in every color and i had that you know especially when you're on tv that's a whole other degree i think when you're being seen by so many people
A hundred percent.
