And those ones are Italian loaves, and then there are these sweet wheat loaves, sandwich bread, and baskets stuffed full of fresh baguettes.
I had a friend in college who was studying culinary arts and she was an amazing baker, and I remember her telling me that a properly made baguette should be so crisp on the outside that if you held it at either end and twisted, it would shatter.
I don't know if that's true, but I think I won't look it up because I like the idea.
In the cases here there are dozens of kinds of cookies.

They've got peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, which I know are not everyone's cup of tea, but gosh, I love them.
There's something comforting about an oatmeal raisin cookie.

Over here there are bagels and donuts and croissants.
I bet a lot of farmers stop here as soon as they open to get breakfast.
They also have hand pies, some savory, some sweet, and then regular fruit pies and crumbles.
And I know a lot of these are made with fruit from farmers who sell right here in the market.
Raspberries and peaches.
My gosh.
Uh yes, that was my stomach grumbling.
