I'm changing all the red tape that is holding back the building of housing because the reason you cannot afford your rent or own a home is because we didn't have the ambition

to build more housing.

We got hung up with laws like seeker laws, a 1975 environmental law, which had its place at the time.

At a time when I lived near Lake Erie, the pollution was rampant and people weren't protecting the environment and industries were irresponsible.

Smokestacks everywhere.

Sky was orange.

I thought the sky was supposed to be orange when I was a kid.

So I come out of that world.

But fast forward to the world where they just feel like no one's paying attention to them.

And when we start ignoring these cries for help, you get a change.

You get people just demanding change.

So here's what I want to do.

changed the policies, build more housing, the secret law outlived its usefulness.

I just got that through the legislature and people said they, it was called dead on arrival, even the last couple of days of session until the budget was done.

And I said, I'm not leaving town until I get this.

I'm very aggressive when I have my priorities to drive down costs in New York, whether it's auto insurance.

I took on the trial lawyers, one on that front.

So the larger answer to your question is I'm focused on all these areas to drive down the cost of living, housing being probably the top of the list.

But also, let's harness that energy.

In my whole life, we've been asking young people to show up and vote in higher numbers.
