I remember vividly running in the fields.
I didn't even know I was a girl.
Like, you know, this whole thing about like gender identity.
I was just deadly.
Yeah, well, like, I don't know, maybe it's because I do know from research that actually girls that grow up with boys have, if you've lots of brothers, you have different experiences.
I just think we all got treated the same.
Like, if you weren't in with the lads, you were out.
And so I was just one of the lads.
I loved my body like I remember being like in the fields playing football like I'd go in on a tackle like any of the lads and I had no shame and whenever I met anyone that like treated me like or said something about me being a girl I was highly offended that they thought that I wasn't as good as them lads I still am highly offended by that suggestion by the way but as a little girl I knew I knew that I was amazing and then I talk about how that got lost
And it got lost from witnessing how my dad related to women and the way he sexualized women, witnessing my mom's relationship with her body, but then also being abused.
And what that did was that made me... Them three things together, the abuse and then learning about how men see women's bodies and how women see women's bodies, all of them things came together.
And I made these erroneous connections that what happened to me was because of my body.
that I made that happen somehow, that these bad things happened because I was moving in a certain way.
And then I hit 12 and I become this busty, beautiful girl, but because my body developed really early and I'm out in the world and like there's builders shouting things off roofs at me at 12.
And so these things confirm
what I already think, that my body is bad and it made these men do these things to me.
And that's the thoughts that are secretly deep inside of me, that there's something bad about me that attracted these bad things to happen.
And when I met Weight Watchers and I met diet culture, it was like a gift from God.
I was like, I could fix everything that's wrong with my body.
By getting to this destination place.
