I wouldn't endorse it.
And when I look at certain people doing things.
that are like are fake like for example i'm a psychologist and i could potentially be on the radio every week claire but like i won't talk about things that i'm not i don't know about because i think that's wrong like i have a phd in this topic and i teach in this topic and i can learn about this thing and do it but i won't actually lie but you have opinions on things i do have opinions this has been my problem the whole way throughout my career when you try to get women to come on particularly panels where you're going to discuss a
That's different, right?
So I would definitely come and talk about loads of things and have no problem.
I can form opinions on anything.
But there's a difference between claiming expertise in a topic because of your PhD or you're a doctor.
You're a doctor and then all of a sudden you're an expert on everything that relates to anything medical, which is wrong.
And actually it's using your credentials to sell an expertise that you don't actually have.
So if you ask me to come on and talk about what's going on in Gaza, what's going on with women in the local community, I'm there.
You have an opinion, but you're not going to say I'm an expert on something.
No, not at all.
And I also, that bothers me a lot because I think then what happens is then people, they say things that are not true and can be really harmful to people.
Like, for example, recently someone I follow would be saying, if you have anxiety, just breathe, just breathe.
just all you need to do is breathe like and actually you know there's a lot of evidence to say that like meditation and going into yoga and them types of things can actually be quite harmful for people who have serious ptsd because when you're in your body you're actually in the zone that's quite triggered and so i'd be listening to this doctor or someone with specialists thinking that's really can be quite harmful you're hurting people but because you have a status so that that
riles me a little bit and it reminds me a little bit interesting that you mentioned breathing because people are selling breathing now i know they're selling breathing selling they've monetized breathing i see it all the time i know online and the sea they've monetized the sea and breathing yeah and you're kind of like i think like there's people who do it who don't necessarily have the ability to think about it necessarily in a critical way they actually believe the things that they're saying but then there's actual people who do things like that who should be who should know better yeah
That's all fine.
Yeah, all fine.
Absolutely fine.
