dissolve this primary bond that stitches together the fabric of society through no fault nobody can be at fault maybe you just feel like you know your feelings have changed or you're not fulfilled anymore you want to move on to another chapter or actually you know this person really fulfills me not you anymore and so what no fault divorce did is it removed one of the three fundamental characteristics that set marriage apart from all other relationships

What three characteristics are those?

Permanence, complementarity, and monogamy.

It's supposed to be until death do us part, it's supposed to involve a man and a woman, and it's supposed to be a one flesh union forsaking all others.

So no-fault divorce removed that first aspect of marriage.

It said it doesn't need to be permanent.

The marriage can last as long as the adults are happy and fulfilled.

And when you're unfulfilled and you're unhappy, the marriage can be over.

Well, same sex advocates said, well, if this is not a union about the well-being of kids, which obviously divorce is very detrimental to the physical, mental, emotional, academic, relational health of kids.

And if this is just about emotional fulfillment of adults, well, why can't we do away with complementarity, too?

Why does it need to be a man and a woman?

Because another man or another woman fulfills me and makes me happy.

So complementarity was the second thing to go in 2015 when the Supreme Court legalized mandated gay marriage across the country in the Obergefell decision.

And as we see the rampant rise in approval for polyamorous and polygamous homes and some jurisdictions that are starting to recognize multi-parent, multi-partner marriages, polygamy and monogamy is on the chopping block as well.

I got into the fight for natural marriage in 2012 as an anonymous blogger.

And I had a chance to watch a lot of the leading voices in conservatism.

And I think a lot of them took that libertarian approach that just stay out of my life.
