And, you know, there's this mystery of this maid and this young teen that died in a boating accident that there's so much still mounted against him that no matter what, whether this conviction does go to trial and is overturned and then goes to trial, and if he's found to be not guilty, he will never get out of prison. matched

Yes, yes, that is exactly right, that Alex Murdaugh does face the death penalty, that that is on the table, and that is something that happens in South Carolina. matched

And to get the death penalty, you have to be convicted of that and another crime, along with murder. matched

So, in this case, prosecutors have said that they would seek the death penalty. matched

Because his family, you know, he was from this legal dynasty that was extremely prominent in the South Carolina Lowcountry. matched
