It was their argument that Lindsay killed the children because she was suffering from what was referred to as a command hallucination.
We heard that Lindsay claimed that she heard a man's voice telling her she needed to kill the children so that she could kill herself.
Lindsay also reported intrusive thoughts of harming herself in the weeks before the killings.

But the prosecution challenged this throughout the trial.
They didn't deny that Lindsay was suffering from mental health issues, agreeing that she was suffering from anxiety and depression.
But they did argue that she was not so unwell that she was insane.
They argued that she still had the capacity to make decisions, that she chose to kill her children and therefore should be criminally responsible.
Now, Rachel, we're going to cover some of the dramatic moments over the last few days that have played out during the jury's deliberations.

Zizel, it's very clear that he's saying Lindsay could not be criminally responsible.
But then you hear from the prosecution that Dr.
Halburn is essentially saying the opposite.
