And these strangers were not there to share beers and hang out.
Their vibe was totally different.
Within a half hour, a fight broke out, and Geordie got caught in.
The middle of it.
She was jostled into the campfire at one point.
She hurt her knee pretty badly.
The strangers took off a short time later, but the damage was already done.
Jordi was injured, the vibe had been killed, and her boyfriend, who had come to the party separately, decided that it was time for them to leave.
He lifted Jordi off the ground and he carried her back to his truck.
But on the way out, they stopped at Maddie's tent.
Maddie had been inside throughout the entire fight.
She was already burrowed in her sleeping bag, half asleep.
Geordie told her, Hey, we're gonna leave.
And Maddie pleaded with her to stay.
Geordie tried to convince Maddie to come with them instead, but she was too tired to tear down her tent and she didn't want to leave it behind unattended.
It was her dad's tent, she said.
She just didn't want to risk it.
So
Geordie left, and that was a decision that she said she would regret for the rest of her life.
