So the dynamic with Lido is quite different.
So I'd say they were the type of questions we were getting.
And then again, like any good company, they're doing a significant amount of due diligence on like how we deal with
situations, whether it's s um slashing, whether it's infrastructure support, where it's located, we went through that kind of full array or gamble of questions with them.
Uh Lido uh Lido Steak.
The interest is quite strong.
So for context like Lido is the largest liquid staking protocol, around twenty billion TVL.
Um so from definitely like a retail perspective, like Lido has been hugely successful.
Um I suppose what I was brought on to do was to help I suppose mirror that success or grow that success from an institutional aspect.
So a lot of the clients or the the users that we would speak to, they were just natively staking their ETH.
And one of the big issues with native staking is that you're effectively taking your ETH, you're locking it away, and you might be getting circa three percent.
Um there's obviously benefits in that, you're obviously securing the network for Ethereum, which is really important, but for a lot of institutions, locking away a a significant amount of capital and only getting three percent, it may not be that exciting.
And that's effectively where Lido comes in with liquid staking.
So our pitch to them is effectively you're getting the benefits of securing the network, the three percent staking rewards rate, but we offer you liquidity.
So in the sense of you can take that steet, deploy it into DeFi, use it as collateral, or in the case of if you want to get out of your position instead of waiting for the execute, you can easily swap your steath into USDC.
I wouldn't say there's liability in such terms like that, like any protocol, there's smart contract risk.
Um obviously again, like LIDA being a middleware.
the node operators that comes with a level of slashing risk.
But like Lido's been around for such a long time.
It's battle tested.
