But yeah, it also disarmed me because here she had been presented with

the possibility that she was, you know, had done some bad things, that she was the cause of the breakup of this marriage, which was the allegation that her husband made.

And she had a number of ways to respond to that.

She could, you know, say, no, no, no, and jump up and down and deny, deny, deny, as most people tend to do when they're accused of such a thing.

Or she could simply, as you say, bat it back into my court with something flirtatious and fun.

And it worked far better.
