We didn't know at the time.
So we, we made love for the first time and it was spectacular.
And I talk about it in the book and, uh,
I stayed till about three o'clock in the morning or so because we had this agreement that I would never stay over the children.
She, she did not want her children to wake up in the morning and have another man in the house.
That's just how she looked at it.
And I understood completely.
So that's the latest I had ever stayed over there.
And it was because of the circumstances.
So about three ish or so, I walked out of her house.
My car was parked on the street in the,
Brentwood on Gretna Green, really quiet neighborhood.
And I'm going to describe the sequence events to you because it correlates directly with the night of the murders on Bundy.
As I left the house, you had to exit the door, go down a long, dark sidewalk, through a courtyard, through a gate, through an iron gate, around another sidewalk, down a driveway to where my car was parked.
And I remember it was so eerie that night, maybe because of what we had just been through.
It was special to me, but my senses were really heightened at that time.
Mm-hmm.
And I just remember thinking to myself, it's just so silent and eerie out here.
But I was happy because what had just transpired.
So got in the car, drove home thinking not much of it.
