And I apologize that I didn't get these questions to staff earlier and I'm Monday morning quarterbacking here, but I would like to understand if there's any data on the total fees that were assessed last year per each group. podcast-host

I agree with Council Member Hardy, cost recovery is a real thing and if I'm understanding right, podcast-host

Santa Clara only recovered 11%, whereas compared to the national average, it's 23%. podcast-host

So it's a dismal recovery anyways. podcast-host

When I kind of looked into successful programs of cost recovery in parks and rec, I think that we've got what would be a pyramid system as well going on. podcast-host

I'm wondering if there would be an opportunity to almost list that subsidy per group whereas the top of the pyramid really is looking at highly individualized, no community benefit, and then the bottom of the pyramid where we want to offer full subsidy would be the most community benefit offered. podcast-host

If we understand how each group kind of paid into this, I'm still assuming that that nonprofit youth user support was the biggest contributor to cost recovery. podcast-host

I hear that there's a little bit of workload that's built into that that's challenging. podcast-host

I want to understand that more because I think looking at a sliding scale and again the only area that I really want to focus on is that non-profit youth sector. podcast-host

I think a sliding scale could be beneficial when considering also maybe income levels of the people and the size of the groups. podcast-host
