My experience has been if you meet and set up those guidelines face to face, it goes way better than through email.
I just think sometimes tone can be lost.
And that intention can be lost through email.

If I can't do a face to face, I try to at least do a phone call.

They don't necessarily need to know everything that's gone wrong every day.
I think it's really far more valuable.
if you focus on a few things that you're going to work on and communicate on and to make sure that the communication is balanced with what is also going well.
Um, teachers are often very busy.
And sometimes we forget to communicate the news of successes.
And I think if we made a point of doing that a little bit more, especially with these kids who have struggled, there wouldn't be the anxiety that sometimes there can be when parents are communicating with teacher.
especially if it was something that that he or other students were working on.
