That's a good question. The way I see it, the Rockets don't see anybody as like a building. They have a lot of talented young guys on their roster that they're developing at the same time. Until one of them clearly outperforms the rest of the pack, then you still have to keep them all on that same tier of good guys to keep an eye on, but no one has broken that shield yet.

Obviously, Alpert is now being in the All-Star. You could say he's further along that path, but until you get to the playoffs, until you get to a real competition, you don't know what you really have in these guys going forward over the next three to five years. I don't think that definitively they could say, you know, this is a guy that we want to keep long time versus this guy.

But I do know that Alperin is a hell of a talent. I understand why other teams would want him because of the skill set he possesses at that age and their trajectory. But again, you know, until you get to the playoffs, you really don't know what you have with these guys. So I think you have to wait and see. Going back to the thing about trying to accumulate as much data as possible.
