Love Island, I think, is one of the first shows, and this is why I would argue that it's closer to a sport than some of the reality TV that you and I both really enjoy.

What?
Like that feels crazy.
But it's because it's like it's a moment and it's a connection event.
There are obviously forms of television watching that are isolationist, right?
Like you're alone in your home.
You're never talking to anyone about it.
It's like a kind of escape mechanism that kind of blinds you to the rest of the world.
And I think part of what makes Love Island and sports not really like that is that because there's so much content.
And it comes on every day.
You have to talk about it, which means like if there's nobody in your home with you for you to talk to about it, you have to go outside.
Like you have no other option.
It's like sure you could post on TikTok, but that's not the same.
