And you take for granted how many skilled players that maybe didn't even make it to the National Hockey League, whether it's opportunity or a chance to go, wow, are these guys high-end, fast-paced, great players?
And that's what I found coaching in the second season here is –
Just the pace of play and the creativity.
You want to see Michigan's?
All these guys can do it and do it quickly on breakaways and things.
I envy the goaltenders because it's nothing but nonstop action, fast paced, go, go, go.
Even the rules, they have the...
You know, like the NBA, you can't do the over and back different than the NHL.
The regroup can't go past the red line or you lose possession because they want the game to constantly be going.
Even when you score a goal, the goalie has to take it out of net and you keep the play going.
That's kind of the mindset of the league.
And yeah, it's been really rewarding because for me,
There's not much strategy.
I talked to Jack Hughes and Bratton and said, can you give me some advice before my first season last year?
And it happens so quick that you've got to let these guys rely on their instincts and their abilities.
But I try to encourage, bring that passion, emotion that I've always brought on.
brought off and on the ice and and the players love that and that's that's for me just watching these guys do what they do and yes if i can give a little insight saying well i saw jack hughes do this last year maybe they can blend that into into their thought process along the way but uh i just really enjoyed you know they always say the second best thing to playing is coaching i never believed that or knew that
I always wanted to stay in the game.
Now I'm going maybe I missed my calling 20 years ago because I never knew I'd have this much fun at it.
And these guys are competitive and they take it seriously.
