at the desk, could he have his Hyundai car key back?

It was of sentimental value to him.

Investigators would say there was no sentimental value whatsoever.

And just the whereabouts of that car key,

has never, it's not known what happened to it, whether he swiped it, whether it got lost in the station or what happened, but that car key has never been found and the belief is that that car key was the car key belonging to the Hyundai that was found burnt out in town.

Yeah, and it's actually fairly unusual.

So just another point of when he was released from that station, Gardaí are fairly satisfied.

The actual BMW that had been seized on the motorway had been placed in a compound, secure compound in North County Dublin.

Carabini made his way there.

He was trying to get at the BMW and no one knows for why or for what reason, but he got spooked when a civilian member of staff kind of encountered him.

And he liked it and he then fled to England maybe a short time later.

He had long standing connections to England and had served a number of jail sentences there over the years including for burglary, drugs offences and so on.

But that's where he went and he'd obviously been identified as a gateway driver at this stage.

Gardaí got enough information to obtain an arrest warrant.

And he next surfaced, he was arrested in London for burglary in, I think it was February 2024.

He got a two year sentence for that.

Obviously Gardaí were notified then of his whereabouts.

And their formal extradition process began around then, but it's still going on now.
