Oh boy, don't I know.

I had flown from Atlanta to LA for the Grammys.

This was way, way back.

This was when she performed with Prince.

And while she's performing and they're opening up the Grammys with Prince, I'm throwing up in the bathroom there at the Staples Center.

And you can hear, they blast the program.

all throughout the arena.

So I'm hearing the performance and I'm thinking, wow, she's having a career high.

And this seems like a low because I'm hugging a toilet and I'm going to speak with Beyonce very soon.

I had cultivated a pretty good relationship with Yvette, Beyonce's publicist, longtime publicist.

She's a wonderful lady.

And she's a fan of the book.

I told her very little.

And so, yeah,

And so she, so I've done interviews with Beyonce before, over the years, during CNN, when I was at NBC prior to that.

So it wasn't nerves, but I was just unable to think

clearly.

I was barely able to focus, like visually focus on anything.

And so we're sitting there.

She gave me 10 minutes, which is a lifetime back then, much less now.
