I wanted to be a sponge and learn from them.
So I sought out people that I really respected in very different fields, but that could help contribute to what I was trying to build.
Right.
And one of my advisors ended up being my first investor and saying, what you're building is phenomenal.
Can I please invest?
And that in and of itself was the first time I took money off the table.
2012.
So 10 years in.
But it wasn't a lot.
But for me, I never had money just in a bank account.
I had a float.
A personal float and a business float.
And it was always this chess game I was playing.
That was the first time I actually felt like...
I could breathe a little easier.
And then three years later, we brought in a private equity firm for 20% of the business.
And I got a little more.
And then that was, for me, I would have been fine.
I was fine.
I was happy.
