It also kinda gives you a little bit of dopamine as you're getting through your day, kinda seeing the the progress bar go up and uh one thing that also helps me if maybe I had a really busy day and wasn't able to to get to billing is on my calendar I will put, you know

Here I'm gonna work on this project for this two hour period, or and here I'm gonna do this.

And um, I also have a to-do list, I'm very organized, and so um those things help me make sure that I'm getting credit for all of the work that I'm doing.

Um also it's just important not to write off your time.

I think it's really easy to self-edit, um, but when you realize that

You know, you're only doing yourself a disservice, you're also doing the firm a disservice when you're writing off your time.

You know, I think

billable hours can be a huge point of stress, but when you're first starting out, um recognize everyone knows you're first starting out.

And if you don't have billable work on your desk and you've exhausted your resources of, you know, letting everyone know that you have capacity

trying to find some non billable stuff that will make you a better attorney, whether that's researching recent updates in health law or um taking a a C L E on how to write better or um, you know, just networking with people in your firm.

You know, there are other ways that you can

uh build a practice early on other than just billing hours even though it is still really important to bill hours.

Well business development is just as much of being an attorney as billing is and the more that you can demonstrate to the firm that this isn't just a job for you, but this is, you know, a career and you're interested in health law more than just a paycheck.

You're you're interested in, you know, helping our clients stay uh apprised of all of the updates and

It it's just a great way to to bring value to the firm early on.

Yeah, I've been championing Hall Render this entire podcast, but i it's such a special place because we get to serve great clients like I've talked about, but I also get to work with great people.

I probably spend more time with people at work than I do my mini golden doodle at home.
