My broadcast partner, Brian Boucher, they all played together.
Bouch, Jonesy, Tockett, Bryndamore, so it's like old home week when those guys get together and
This year in the regular season, they played four times, and all four games went to overtime.
So they were close games.
You look at what Carolina's been able to do over the last decade, winning a playoff series now eight or nine consecutive seasons and going deep into the playoffs, getting to the conference final twice in the last three years.
The good news for Carolina is they don't have to deal with the Florida Panthers this year.
They've swept them in the conference final in those two meetings.
But for Philadelphia and Carolina, they've never met in the playoffs, so this will be a first.
I'm not sure which series I'll be involved in yet, but if it is the Flyers and Carolina, it should be a lot of fun.
From the Hurricane standpoint, what a tremendous job Freddie Anderson did in the series against Ottawa.
Brandon Bussey was the number one for the most part during the regular season, had a terrific year, and then Anderson comes in and he's had some issues in the postseason in recent years, and
He shuts the door on the Senators and with the playoff experience that they have and the style that they play, I think a lot of us heading into the playoffs certainly could have seen the Hurricanes making a long run, a deep run, and
You know, the Flyers will certainly have something to say about it, but it should be a fun series in the East.
We'll see if this is their year to get there.
We still have the other two series in the East.
Game six is coming up with
Montreal and Buffalo, and I had the opportunity to work a game in that series.
It was a tremendous atmosphere up in Montreal for game three when Lane Hudson scored the overtime winner.
They have their game six to look forward to with Tampa, and then, of course, Buffalo and Boston.
