Okay, what is garum?
Well, garum is something that the city of Pompeii produced in great quantities.
It was basically the ancient world's ketchup.
People put it on everything from fish and soup to salads and pear souffle.
Okay, well, I have had some really delicious Vietnamese food with fish sauce, so I can definitely see that tasting excellent.
But the open vet in the sun situation should probably be reconsidered.
Not so much there.
Anyway, we haven't talked about the most important food-related discovery of all.
I'm sure it's something that really adds to the scholarship about the ancient people.
Oh, it definitely does.
It was found in Herculaneum, and it's a ham clock.
