Okay, it wasn't literally him.
Yeah, Matt worked for Target and he sat through hundreds of these types of line review meetings.
And you know, for Erica, she was a nervous wreck.
We asked Matt, what what is this moment like from your perspective, from a buyer's perspective?
What are you thinking?
That's it.
Wow.
Now, Matt was not a board game buyer specifically.
When he worked at Target, he was in charge of deciding what to buy for the deli and prepared foods aisles.
So our question for Matt was in a pitch meeting like Erica's, pitching a brand new game, what would the buyers on the other side of the table be thinking?
And and then when the meeting's over, yeah, we are waiting, but but this is when the buyers like Matt have to really get to work.
If they like something, if they like our pitch, they still have to then make a pitch to their bosses.
But, but none of those games had Erica Barris in the room for their line review.
Okay, hm, maybe not as special as we were hoping.
It was months and months and months of nothing.
During that time, Exploding Kittens did do a similar line review pitch process with other big box retailers, you know, more pitches, better chance someone picks us up and tells us, you know, go forth, make a bunch of games for us.
