Being at the local rugby club, but also playing rugby at the school.

It's the best way if you don't know anyone, right?

Because sport does it.

It's just easy to connect them with people.

So it was a league school.

We had some league greats come out of there, but we did have a good coach who's no longer with us, Jeff Moon.

Just one of those enablers in the space.

Good coach, but also cared about players and people and wanting them to do well.

So I think just being under the guidance of some good people and really being proud of where we were from.

Yeah.

We were able to achieve some awesome stuff at Alderley College because it was a team that originally started in C grade.

There was a C grade.

And, you know, regularly competing in the A grade now, which is awesome.

Yeah, so when I was playing at school, I was playing in the loose forwards.

And there was a time that when I first started playing in the loose forwards, there was no jumping.

So when my position became a line-out jumper, I didn't fit the mould anymore.

So that awesome person, Jeff Moon, he said, if you want to go further, you're going to have to change your position.

And so that's where I moved into the front row.

And so for a couple of years, I was sort of in between positions.

You know, when we talk about when your pathways cross, I had an MPC coach for Auckland that saw promise in me.
